Courtney holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from James Cook University. She was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2023 and joined Thompson Cooper Lawyers in 2025 as a solicitor.

Courtney has represented insurers and large corporations in a broad range of litigated and unlitigated matters. She has experience in handling claims in all Australian jurisdictions, particularly in retail environments. Courtney regularly acts for defendants, their insurers and various government agencies including the Commonwealth in the area of public liability litigation.
